I Don't Stop at Ford Dealerships

This is why:

Another reason is the GT is coming in around 40K. Ouch!

Here is the sticker from the '94:

I guess I will keep running around in the '94 GT!

We have come a long way from "$2,368 FOB Detroit"!

  1. NO options other than floor mats?

    Amazing.....

And somebody really needs to instruct these test "drivers" that drifting through corners like that is NOT the fastest way through them!

    1. Well that (preferred package option) was 1800 on top plus the 30 for the floor mats for whatever was above sticker, but yeah. The 1800 got me cruise control, some crap stereo (that was promptly removed), and anti lock brakes. Oh and a CFC free A/C.

The dude driving it I agree. I think it was more for show than anything.

Thank heaven I did not get a call in to the local dealer tonight (busy signal). They have a smoking 2013 in stock.

      I will let it pass!

  2. Ok, so it was one of those "Package A" or "Package B" things when you ordered it.

There's a Ford dealer a mile or two from here, and *every* time I drive by I'm tempted to go in and look at thee Boss 302 they have in the show room.

    DROOL......DROOL!

  3. I love the new Mustangs. Plus you can't beat a car that makes that much horsepower and gets gas mileage that good.

On a related note Black Betty is for sale. Sigh. With the house remodel I just can't keep up with her any more.

  4. I bought 2011 GT used back in April of 2011 - 1850 miles on the clock. It's the base model - no Sync, no backup camera, no leather seats, no color-adjustable instrument lighting. The only options on it are the Brembo brakes (manual transmission mandatory with the Brembos) and the 3.55 rear gears. A/C, power windows and cruise control are standard. And it was about $5k below new.

Shop judiciously. You, too can find a GT Mustang you can afford.

  5. I'd love to, but I'm going to be retiring in the next year or so, and I don't want to make that commitment.

    Besides....I've always wanted a Mazda Miata...WITH A SMALL-BLOCK FORD IN IT!!!

I could build it sloooowly without damaging my budget, and the stock Mazda transmission and rear end are strong enough to cope with a mild 289.

And it would go like stink......

    1. Now, see that is why I love this place! Yep that would work in spades!

I can get my hands on Mr. Curmudgeons F-150 4X4 if I need to. Love that truck! (oh yours and his =)
