As Requested! More Enfield Pics

I have not been able to take it outside to get full pics but this should give a clue.  Murphy's Law requested more pics of the 1916 No.1 MK III Enfield. I aim to please.

Here it is after some gentle ministrations. More to be done for sure, but best to "warm her up" and then start again.

The sight is adjustable for windage as opposed to some that were not.  I have not researched any further.

I went with the rounded British front sight endcap as opposed to the square Indian one.  I also added the stacking lug well, because I could.

I have no idea what these markings mean.  More research needed.

I will try to get some pics out with better lighting outdoors this weekend.

  2. Funny how often that "old-fashioned" tech works as well as modern equivalents. Nice rifle & nice pics.

  6. Looking good! We had one at the pawn shop recently that had been uh, sporterized. Way back in the past. Not too bad of a job except for the reshaped forend tip that had been done with a pocket knife. Such a sad thing for such a great rifle.
