Here it is after some gentle ministrations. More to be done for sure, but best to "warm her up" and then start again.
The sight is adjustable for windage as opposed to some that were not. I have not researched any further.
I went with the rounded British front sight endcap as opposed to the square Indian one. I also added the stacking lug well, because I could.
I have no idea what these markings mean. More research needed.
Nice. Can't wait to see first-hand how it shoots.
ReplyDeleteMe either! Let's shoot!
DeleteFunny how often that "old-fashioned" tech works as well as modern equivalents. Nice rifle & nice pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shepard! I can't wait to shoot it!
DeletePURTY! Now if it shoots half as goo as it looks... :-)
ReplyDeleteWe will find out my friend!
DeleteI love my Mk 4, and so does everyone who shoots it. Interesting to compare with yours.
ReplyDeleteI would like to compare with yours as well BP and Welcome!
DeleteLooking good Keads.
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
Thanks Six. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
DeleteLooking good! We had one at the pawn shop recently that had been uh, sporterized. Way back in the past. Not too bad of a job except for the reshaped forend tip that had been done with a pocket knife. Such a sad thing for such a great rifle.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Dean. I am glad to get this one back in fighting shape.
