Show us your Benches!

Over at God, Gals, Guns, Grub,  he was kind enough to show off his gun room and benches. I must say his setup is very impressive. He asked for fellow Bloggers to do the same. Here is my rather pedestrian gun room (click to well, you know):

I really can't handle anything other than basic disassemble and clean here. I can reload however. If I need anything else done I show up at one of my machine shops I have strategically placed around my fair town, LOL!

The thread however brought me the sadz. For now the bench looks like this:

Empty and devoid of life. After having several storied and interesting Firearms here lately, I feel sad.

Oh wait. I did find this:

A Hopkins and Allen top break .32 Safety Police revolver and the barrel ring from the Glenfield 75 just got back from glass beading. I have not decided to just paint the barrel ring or try the cold bluing stuff out.

Oh yeah I do need to give this the once over:

Remington Model 742 in .243 caliber. Suddenly I don't feel so sad!

  1. Thanks, Keads... great set up and as many rounds as I've reloaded over the years, I really need to move to a progressive unit, especially for pistol calibers...

I like the pad on the bench... and raised areas to keep screws and small springs from rolling all over... could I ask where you found it...

    1. Dann- Its a "Ransom Master Mat". I love it. I was introduced to them at the Blackwater Armorer class. I got mine from Brownells. Well worth the money!

  2. Yeah, no room for a bench here. My "space" is relegated to wherever I can set up my PVC table. Maybe if I had a dedicated space, I would clean my guns more. ;)

    1. @45er... Like I said in my post... was almost killed after a Hoppe's number 9 spill on the oak kitchen table... wife spared my life... a PVC folding table is a good idea... I have six I use during my NRA/CCW courses... easy to clean...

    2. I can totally empathize with that. Technically, I'm not allowed inside the house with an open bottle of Hoppe's. I have to set up in the garage.

  3. 45err - it doesn't have to be very big, I managed to squeeze my gear into a small corner of available space....

    1. DC, I actually have good space in the garage. The problem is that it gets effin hot in the summer and I can't really store anything out there like solvent or powder or, well much of anything I care about. I would love a little space with everything conveniently stored. I know I'm more likely to do things if I don't have to dig it all out every time.

    1. NFO Yeah we do, but you would be surprised at what it looks like here even with the bench!

  5. Hi 45er - Yeh I have the same problem except for the cold even though it doesn't get as cold here as many other places. I also need to have a convenient space or my ADD kicks in and suddenly I'm doing something completely different.
