Weekend question...

So I'm continuing to Try to show the Mustangs some love. For some reason I wanted to try to replicate the retro look of the 1966 Fastback rear window on the 2013. Here is the real deal:

Here is the rear window of the 2013:

The '66 was a true bolt in. It actually worked. Here are the commercials from back in the day from a old post of mine here

Best I can do now is some fiberglass that attaches to the window. So what do ya think about this?

Yeah, I can place it better when the 3M trim adhesive comes out! Sorta hard to take a pic and hold that in place at the same time!

I await your comments. I now have time to do so because the color match was great but:

Trash in the paint or bad fiberglass mold. They will ship replacements next week.

So, in the meantime off for a full new shooter class tomorrow and the same Sunday for CCH!

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. It'd be nice if there was an actual bolt in like the 66... I'm betting there will be soon, or is (somewhere out there)... Enjoy the shooting!

    1. It's starting to hit the new shooter class. We give them range handguns and ammo as part of the class. CCH? Not so much yet. I make the qual 40 rounds for that.

  3. I like the louvers, fake or not. Every girl deserves a little bling.

Have fun and kick butt this weekend!

    1. Memories. I had a '65 Fastback 289 Hi-Po, 4 speed 389 rear. Wish I still had it.:) That particular setup held C Stock record for a number of years with only 271 advertised HP.

Brock. Ah. So many Mustangs have been here and I wish I could have kept them all.

  4. You asked a question in there somewhere didn't you?
    I'm pretty sure you did.
    I cannot focus.
I'm going to report you to the authoritah for posting automotive pron.
    There was a flaw?
I apologize, I've never owned a vehicle without a cracked windshield.
    Heavenly pics Keads,intended or not.

  5. Sorry, the only thought I had was why would anyone intentionally add a blind spot? The civic that we sold to the neighbors had a similar tiny rear window, but even with the small size it was really nice for merging onto the highway.

They look nice, if that helps. How a car drives is still more fun than just looks any day.

    1. Ah, good point but I am used to limited visibility in Mustangs.

  6. I like the louvers Kelly. They add a nice touch of nostalgia and a nod to the 2013s heritage. Plus they look cool so there's that :)
