So my friend Brigid whips out a review of the Ruger Vaquero. As always it is a masterpiece of the written word backed by experience and some humor.
Me? Well not so much.
A Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum in a western rig and with a Puma West German knife.
In a Bianchi rig no less.
My review of this revolver? Load, cock, and hang the he*l on as you pull the trigger!
I hope you found this review helpful! Me, the first time I pulled the trigger on this thing oh, 35+ years ago it took a chunk of my thumb off.
I am told that it was purchased for 80 bucks. A deal!
OK, if ALL the cool kids are gonna have Vaqueros, I gotta get me one, too.
ReplyDeleteI don't have one either, but I have the Grandfather. As you say I need to get one too!
DeleteI have one of these babies. Sweet is all I have to say along with, you don't want to be on the receiving end of it.
ReplyDeleteThey are sweet!
DeleteI had a similar shooting experience the first time I shot my 22 ounce .44 Spl snubby. After it tried to break my hand and hit my forehead I learned to use lighter loads for targets.
ReplyDeleteTAK
I need a big-bore DA revolver for bear country. It's a shame they now cost more than a hunting rifle. Ah well, there's always the used market.
ReplyDeleteSuuuwweeeeeetttt gun...
ReplyDeleteDann in Ohio
Bee-a-u-ti-ful!
ReplyDeleteGotta love the old 3 screw.
ReplyDeleteI had a New Vaquero 7.5" in stainless until being poor forced me to sell it. Planning on getting a replacement soon. Carrying an SA makes you far more conservative about wasting ammo, so buying it in a large caliber (.45 is my preference) is only sense.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful piece, and the photos are exquisite. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAn oldie but a goody! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I have one in 45LC to go along with my Marlin in the same caliber. I'm thinking I want to be buried with it.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the EAR PROTECTION.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it is intentional effort or not Keads, but your photos are getting quite good.
Might just be your affinity for your sweet sweet rides and epic fire arms are innately inspring.
The composition on the second photo is outstanding.
in fact I'm going to steal it. (I didn't say that out loud, did I?)
Huh? Did you say something? Did not hear ya. Thanks for the complement and sure Lift the pic. Done in haste as light was fading.
