An Uncle again from the other side of the Family and I admit I only met him once that I remember. Private Ceremony today and I could not get there. He was a retired United States Air Force Major.
"Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."
Godspeed Sir.
I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I hate most about aging is exactly this - the losses to the heart.
