So Tam has a post up on the cost of .22 revolvers. I have to say her logic is impeccable. Since she mentions the Smith and Wesson 617, I thought I would oblige.
Yep! Just like the 686 .357 Magnum. Big honking K Frame. Noted as the K-22 Masterpiece Stainless FulI-lug. I agree with Tam. The cost to make this Handgun regardless of caliber would be the same to me.
Here is a shot of the 617 with its little sister, the Model 34-1 Kit gun. Chambered in the same caliber.
The cost is in the action, not so much the raw materials.
In these days of hi-cap mags and such a 22 revolver is still just as much fun. IMHO.
ReplyDeleteThey are fun!
DeleteThat model 617 shore is purty.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shepard! It is most beautiful.
DeleteVery nice, and when I was looking for one, I couldn't find one of those!!! Ended up with an old K-22... And they ARE fun!!!
ReplyDeleteYes they are NFO!

ReplyDeleteI'll neither confirm nor deny (cuz ya'll probably don't have the clearance nor need to know ;-) that one of them ended up as a birthday present a while back - but I CAN confirm that they are good shooters!
ReplyDeleteOTB MCPO sends.............
Yes they are good shooters!
DeleteThat looks like a lot of fun. Computer broke (literally, two keys came off the ancient thing and as it was a laptop, it was easier to get a new one than add a new keyboard) but at least now I can get caught up on the blogs
ReplyDeletePaid close to $1000 for the original, got one almost like it in the low 3's. Isn't technology grand.
Glad you are back on line!
