All Hands!

Another warrior from the USS Laffey (DD-724) has gone to his final rest.

Obituary posted on the USS Laffey Association Website here.

Funeral will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery Administration Building, 1:00PM, 29 June 2012

Godspeed and requiescat in pace Captain. Thank you for your service to this Nation.

  1. They are dying fast, hopefully someone is getting their stories before they pass! RIP Capt, RIP!

    1. I am humbled by these people. That is why I am a member of the Laffey association. I need to carry it forward. I have spoken to some that were on point at radar station one during the Kamikaze attack on that ship.

I hope I can continue to tell their story and how we as a Nation are who we are because of these brave warriors.

Sadly, many do not know or care.

I watched a person coming out of the grocery store yesterday. He had a meager cart of stuff and had a Korea veteran cap on. I moved out of the way to let him pass and thanked him for his service. That stopped him right there. He talked to be briefly and thanked me for the comment.

I was honored to meet him. Nice guy. I would like to talk to him again.
