I'm Toast.

So after 30 new shooters yesterday I had 27 students for concealed carry class today. Record numbers.  We adapted and overcame the challenge. I'm pretty beat up right now but still running on the caffeine I ingested all day

So I drag the stuff into the house.

Just want to get the guns into the safe.  To add to the happiness today guess who shows up? A camera crew for local news. Again.  Link is here for My local story on the Fox channel.  Sigh.  Thanks to my RSO's They were awesome!  I appreciate the fact that the owners of the range allow media into the range if all the students and personnel agree.  Most do not.  We have nothing to hide

I do my part.  It leaves me without a speaking voice and mentally and physically exhausted. I know that going in and do it.

So for tomorrow my plan is this.  I will emulate a old friend I miss and do this.

Wasabi has been gone for almost a decade but even now I miss this dog.  I will follow her lead tomorrow and do as little as possible!  She loved that spot. Warm in the winter and cool in summer.  So for tomorrow I will try to just enjoy my environment and do very little!

  1. Sounds alike a busy weekend!! :) Nice!! What I find really encouraging is that when folks discover a good trainer, they are more than willing to take advangage of that resource rather than a quickie course for a permit. As "they" say . . . . "Winning!!"

Congrats, enjoy your day of rest!

  2. Nicely done - Plenty of focus on safety. And a nice report from the local station.

  5. I hope that this finds you enjoying that day.

Supposed to be down to 5 degrees tonight, bitterly cold today. I made a run for dog food so if we get snow on top of this I won't have to break into my "back up bag" of Barkley chow. (there's only one chain that carries what has agreed with his sensitive tummy the best and it's half an hour away).

Stay Warm, and enjoy the break from your labors.

    1. Thanks B. I did and then got sick. I'm slowly getting better.

  6. Hope you caught up on some rest today!

Eventually some of those students could become teachers and help with the work load.

If you had wanted a new friend, we could have given you Lucy (pa & ma-in-law's dog), but then you might not like us anymore.

  7. Great work!! I know it is very taxing to perform the training but it is vital to reach all those who seek the skills...

I am SO glad I don't have to shoot at an indoor range, though.

    1. Thanks and so good to hear from you. Indoor range, well, it is what we have to work with. I long for open long distance ranges. Hard to come by around here.

  11. Nicely done indeed, regarding both the class and the media. I've had large classes before and they do take a fair bit out of you in terms of mental energy supervising everyone, making sure they're all safe, and making sure everyone understands the material being presented.

Take a well deserved rest and we'll wait for Another Day of free gunny ice cream goodness.
